In 1993, the Labour Court upheld a £6,000 compensation recommendation for a worker who complained of sexual harassment, rejecting the employer’s appeal against the amount. The decision was signed on 10 August 1993.
The worker’s union had appealed for an implementation order, while the employer asked the Court to reduce the compensation. The Court said the Equality Officer had already taken account of the employer’s lack of earlier awareness when setting the amount. It upheld the recommendation in full and granted the implementation appeal.
