The Labour Court rejected the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s appeal and upheld the Equality Officer’s recommendation on a cook’s equal-pay claim against Irish Life Staff Restaurant Trustees. The determination was dated 25 January 1996. The Court found that the cook’s occasional work at company functions was not like work with any of the comparators. It also upheld the comparison with one comparator, whose work it found was of greater value than hers.
