Labour Court sets aside €59 public holiday award on A Brilliant Cleaning Services appeal

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court set aside a €59 public holiday award to Bozena Skowronek after allowing her employer's appeal. The determination was signed on 7 January 2014. A Rights Commissioner had found Skowronek was due €59 for the public holiday on 1 January 2013. A Brilliant Cleaning Services Ltd T/A Abc Services Limited argued that it had paid the amount in May 2013. Skowronek did not attend the Labour Court hearing. On the employer's uncontested evidence, the Court found that Skowronek had received her full entitlements under the Organisation of Working Time Act, 1997. It allowed the appeal and set aside the Rights Commissioner's decision.
