The Labour Court upheld two Adjudication Officer decisions against driver Scott Hazel in a determination signed on 29 March 2017. It found his complaint under section 17 of the Organisation of Working Time Act 1997 was brought outside the time limit; the merits were not decided. Hazel said Stobart (Ireland) Driver Services Ltd had failed to honour a maximum nine-hour day and give him 24 hours’ notice of his working hours. The company issued him a final written warning after he objected to a run in October 2014. The Court also upheld the decision on a separate complaint under section 16(2) of the Act. Hazel made no submission on that complaint to the Labour Court, and the supplied determination does not identify the Adjudication Officer’s outcome.
