The Labour Court rejected Andrejs Ivanovs’s appeal against a finding that his race discrimination complaints against J.V. C. Recycling Ltd were not well founded. The Court dated its determination 5 September 2012. Ivanovs said he was not given an employment contract while Irish and Polish colleagues were, and that his dismissal was discriminatory. The company said fixed-term contracts ended for 71 employees of different nationalities. The Court found the contract issue had already been addressed by another tribunal and found no evidence that his contract or the end of his employment was linked to his nationality. It upheld the Equality Officer’s decision.
