The Labour Court found that a contract cleaner was not dismissed and that neither International Contract Cleaners Limited nor A.I.B. Bank discriminated against her on marital-status grounds. Its decision was dated 8 October 1991.
The Employment Equality Agency alleged that International Contract Cleaners dismissed the worker after she failed a security check because of her husband, and that A.I.B. Bank procured the dismissal. Both companies denied the claim. The contractor said it offered her another job in the same district on the same terms, but she did not respond.
The Court found no evidence that the contractor knew anything about her husband. It considered the two RSI numbers she had given a reasonable reason to remove her from the A.I.B. site and found that she was not dismissed. The complaint was not well founded; the Court found no discrimination by the contractor and no procurement or attempted procurement by A.I.B. Bank.
