The Labour Court found that Shree Limited’s establishment was covered by the Registered Employment Agreement for Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Footwear, Drapery and Allied Trades, and that worker Andrea Parkinson was covered by it. The decision was signed on 3 August 1994. Parkinson had complained that Shree did not pay holiday pay. An inspection found she was paid below the statutory minimum rate and did not receive annual leave or public holiday entitlements. The Metropolitan District Court referred the agreement’s application to the Labour Court after Shree argued that its Indian handcrafts shop fell outside the agreement.
