The WRC recommended that an employer pay a worker €2,842.50 after finding that it took almost four months for progress on his grievance investigation and that he did not appear to receive a written outcome. The recommendation was dated 12 June 2023. The worker said there had been bullying at work and that a manager protected the alleged perpetrator. The employer said it began a formal investigation, but the alleged bully resigned before the matter could be pursued further. The WRC described the lack of a written conclusion as a fundamental flaw and recommended that the employer review its grievance procedure and ensure managers follow it. It also recommended €2,842.50 compensation for the failures in investigating the grievance.
