A supervisor and a retailer resolved a dispute over changes to her role following a reorganisation. In a recommendation dated 22 May 2024, the WRC recorded an agreement for her to attend two committees and take part in training. The worker said the removal of responsibilities devalued her role and affected her dignity at work. The employer accepted there had been changes but said her role was not diminished and that duties had been redistributed across the supervisor group. Under the agreement, the supervisor would attend the environmental health and safety and employee engagement committees and join the next P&C activities training. She could apply for any future P&C Academy programme. The WRC recommended that the agreed terms be implemented.
