The WRC recommended that a worker treat two disputes as closed: one over the time taken to handle his grievance, and another over refusal of COVID-19 Special Leave with Pay (SLWP). Adjudication Officer Breiffni O'Neill dated the recommendation on 19 June 2025. The WRC found that the grievance process, which took more than five months, was not inordinately long in the circumstances. It also found that the worker had not provided evidence of a positive COVID-19 test during the relevant period and that his recorded reasons for absence did not indicate COVID-19 illness. It recommended that he treat both matters as closed.
