The WRC recommended that an employer pay a worker €1,000 to reflect the manner of his dismissal after he sought payment for additional hours. The recommendation was dated 23 May 2025. The worker said he worked for the employer from June to October 2023 and was dismissed after seeking payment for extra hours. The employer did not attend the hearing or engage with the Industrial Relations process. No argument was raised to contradict the worker’s account. The WRC also recommended that the employer engage with staff in accordance with legislation.
