The Labour Court recommended two £4.50 pay increases for workers covered by the 26th wage round in the wholesale and retail meat trade. It recommended that workers accept the amended agreement alongside the employers’ offer to include regular rostered overtime in holiday pay. The recommendation was signed on 13 November 1986. The Federated Workers’ Union of Ireland had sought higher pay and improved conditions for about 1,000 workers. The Dublin Master Victuallers Association made the offer. The Court did not recommend conceding the union’s other claims.
