The Labour Court did not recommend a claim by the Irish Transport and General Workers’ Union for £2,000 compensation for each of four barmen at Dublin Airport Restaurants Limited. The recommendation was signed on 4 December 1986. The union said new rosters introduced in March 1984 reduced the barmen’s earnings and were not covered by an earlier agreement. The company argued that compensation for the changes had been agreed with the House Committee and applied to all staff, including the barmen. The Court found that the agreement on the 24th wage round included compensation for the roster changes and did not recommend the claim.
