Labour Court recommends deferring Irish Trade Protection Association pay talks

By Fionn Kelly

Labour Court ·

The Labour Court recommended that pay increase negotiations between the Irish Trade Protection Association and the Irish Transport and General Workers’ Union be deferred until the end of January 1987. The recommendation was signed on 16 December 1986. The union had sought a 10% rise, extra leave and an earlier Friday finish for 20 clerical and administrative workers. The company cited difficult trading and financial circumstances and asked to defer the claim until its 1986 accounts were available.
