The Labour Court recommended a 4.5% wage increase for 12 months from 1 July 1986 for 11 sales engineers and clerical staff at Racal Marine Ireland Limited. The recommendation was signed on 19 December 1986. The Electrical Electronic Telecommunication and Plumbing Union had sought a 12% increase and improvements to hours, leave and allowances. The Court recommended that the union accept the company’s offer on clothing and meal allowances, but did not recommend concession of the other claims.
