Labour Court recommends Aga Khan’s Studs negotiate with union on recognition

By Aoife Loughran

Labour Court ·

In 1987, the Labour Court recommended that H. H. The Aga Khan’s Studs negotiate with the Federated Workers’ Union of Ireland over recognition for members seeking union representation. The recommendation was signed on 7 January 1987. The union sought recognition to negotiate members’ pay and conditions. The Studs did not attend the hearing, and the Court proceeded in their absence. It found the recognition claim well founded and recommended negotiations for the specified number of members who wished to be represented by the union.
