In 1987, the Labour Court recommended that 11 middle-management employees at Cash and Company Limited remain in the annual salary review system for the time being. The recommendation was signed on 27 February 1987. The Irish Distributive and Administrative Trade Union sought collective pay negotiations and increases linked to union-negotiated rounds for other store staff. The company said the employees were part of a larger group covered by individual annual reviews. The Court said it would not recommend against union members leaving the annual review procedure, but found no past direct relationship between this group and the general agreement.
