Labour Court ·

In 1987, the Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Bakery and Food Workers’ Amalgamated Union’s claim for an extra 5% payment for bakers required to start work an hour earlier than agreed. The recommendation was signed on 27 August 1987. Lydon House said bakers already received a 33⅓% shift premium and opposed adding another 5%. The Court declined the union’s claim.
