In 1987, the Labour Court did not recommend the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union's claim for a further increase for Maxol Limited's white-collar workers. The recommendation was signed on 27 August 1987. The union sought a 2.50% increase for five months from 1 January 1987 under the 26th wage round. Maxol said the agreement had ended on 31 December 1986 and pointed to offers made under a later round. The Court concluded the 26th round agreement had ended on that date and did not recommend the union's claim.
