Labour Court recommends 3% pay increase for Dublin Gas workers

By Rory Hanlon

Labour Court ·

In 1987, the Labour Court recommended that Dublin Gas Company offer workers a 3% pay increase over 14 months, with payments starting two months after the relevant wage-round end date. The recommendation was signed on 28 September 1987. The Federated Workers Union of Ireland and the Automobile General Engineering Mechanical Operatives Union had sought a 10% increase and two additional days of annual leave. The Court did not recommend conceding the unions’ claim for extra leave.
