The Labour Court recommended a 12-month pay agreement for V'Soske Joyce Limited and the Irish Transport And General Workers' Union, with a 3% increase from 1 August 1987 and a further 3% from 1 February 1988. The recommendation was signed on 12 February 1988. The union had sought a larger rise for 20 workers, citing skilled work, productivity gains and pay levels. V'Soske Joyce Limited said difficult trading conditions and reduced business limited its ability to raise labour costs.
