In 1988, the Labour Court recommended that the Irish Transport and General Workers Union accept Warner Lambert Ireland Limited’s offer of an extra £13.82 a week for depanners from 1 July. It also recommended a £400 lump sum for each of 30 Gum Base Plant operators for retrospection. The recommendation was dated 4 July 1988. The Court said any further payments would depend on successful negotiation of the efficiencies required by management.
