The Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Irish Transport And General Workers' Union's claim against Bus Eireann for compensation for a stores issuer's lost overtime earnings. The recommendation was signed on 2 September 1988. The union alleged the worker had been deliberately excluded from overtime and sought £4,400. Bus Eireann said it had reduced overtime during a cost-cutting reorganisation at its Dundalk garage. The court accepted that the worker's losses were mainly due to the reorganisation and cited the company's proposals on his grade and work arrangements.
