In 1988, the Labour Court did not recommend conceding a worker’s claim for re-employment at Irish Rail. Its recommendation was signed on 9 September 1988. The worker, who had been employed as an electrician, said Irish Rail had taken advantage of his condition when his employment ended. Irish Rail said it had followed its welfare scheme. The Court found no unfairness in how the company treated the worker and said it had no vacancies for electricians.
