The Labour Court recommended that a traffic warden employed by Waterford Corporation accept his transfer to a street inspector/litter warden role. The recommendation was signed on 6 October 1988. The Amalgamated Transport and General Workers Union sought his return to traffic duties after the corporation redeployed him following complaints about his handling of parking tickets, including one given to a doctor attending an emergency call. The Court noted that Waterford Corporation had not fully followed its grievance and disciplinary procedures, but said it could redeploy workers to positions considered more suitable. It recommended that the worker accept the transfer.
