The Labour Court recommended that Mangan Brothers Limited Sligo increase pay rates in line with the agreement reached under the Programme for National Recovery. The recommendation followed a union claim on behalf of 25 workers under the 27th wage round. The Irish Distributive And Administrative Trade Union had sought a 10% increase for 12 months, then said it would accept the Sligo Distributive Trade settlement of 5% over 14 months. Mangan Brothers offered the Programme for National Recovery terms, citing difficult market conditions. The recommendation was signed on 27 October 1988.
