The Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Federated Workers' Union Of Ireland's claim for compensation after the Eastern Health Board removed rostered night duty at Cherry Orchard Hospital. The recommendation was signed on 1 June 1989. The union said the change removed a contractual night-duty premium without consultation. The Board cited financial constraints, including reductions in premium payments. The Court noted those constraints in its recommendation.
