The Labour Court recommended that Cara Cheshire Home and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept established parity between the home’s workers and Eastern Health Board staff. It recommended applying Eastern Health Board travel, night-duty and Saturday allowance rates from 1 January 1989, with night duty calculated on a 112-hour basis. It also recommended phased payment of arrears, with all outstanding amounts due by 31 July 1991. The recommendation was signed on 30 April 1990.
