In 1990, the Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Irish Transport And General Workers Union's claims over earnings and productivity at Wexford Creamery Ltd. The recommendation was signed on 13 August 1990. The union sought loss-of-earnings compensation and productivity payments or regrading for cheesemakers, pasteurisers and bulk milk tanker drivers. Wexford Creamery Ltd argued that adjusted earnings had risen and that there was no substantial change in the workers' duties. The Court was not satisfied that the loss-of-earnings claim was well founded and found no basis to recommend concession of the productivity claims, including driver regrading.
