In 1991, the Labour Court recommended that a part-time clerk typist at St. Enda's Community School, Limerick be paid at the ninth point of the appropriate scale from 1 March. The Court said her permanent status should be considered later, in light of any change in recruitment policy. It cited her full-time hours despite being classified as part-time and her 11 years of temporary service. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought permanent appointment and incremental pay. The recommendation was signed on 31 January 1991.
