The Labour Court recommended that Claris (Ireland) Limited give a former temporary worker a reference and one week’s wages as compensation. The recommendation was dated 25 March 1991. The Court accepted the company’s position on re-employment because the worker’s contract was temporary, but found she had not been treated equitably: she was given no valid reason for her dismissal and no adequate reference. It recommended that the reference describe how she performed her duties. Claris said her temporary contracts did not guarantee continued work.
