In 1991, the Labour Court considered three claims by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union on behalf of Southern Health Board ambulance workers at Tralee General Hospital. The Court did not recommend extra cover for a paid meal break, double time for drivers' rostered overtime or on-call duty for controllers. It said the Board should make greater efforts to provide meal-break cover from existing staff. The Court investigated the issues in Tralee on 21 March and signed its recommendation on 18 April 1991.
