In 1991, the Labour Court recommended that Clare Textiles Limited pay a worker £800 after finding she was unfairly treated in the circumstances of her recruitment. The recommendation was dated 12 July 1991. The worker joined as Sales/Divisional Manager after being recruited from a secure job, then was made redundant less than 13 weeks later. Clare Textiles said difficult trading conditions led it to close its Dublin office and make staff there redundant.
