In 1991, the Labour Court recommended that Blackrock Clinic recognise the Irish Nurses Organisation’s right to represent nursing staff who were members of the organisation. The recommendation was signed on 16 August 1991. The organisation sought recognition after the clinic declined a meeting about members’ employment conditions and said it dealt directly with employees. Blackrock Clinic declined to attend the hearing. The Court considered the organisation’s submission and made the recommendation.
