In 1992, the Labour Court recommended that Claus Michel Limited pay a worker £2,000 after finding she had been treated unfairly when her employment ended. The recommendation was signed on 5 October 1992. The company said it ended her employment after Brown Thomas directed it to discontinue the product she promoted, following poor sales. The Irish Distributive and Administrative Trade Union said she should have received a month’s notice and redundancy terms, and disputed the company’s account of her sales performance.
