In 1992, the Labour Court recommended that TNT Express Limited increase its basic pay offer by £650 a year for six warehouse workers in a dispute over revised shifts and lost overtime. The recommendation was dated 21 October 1992. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought a £1,000 pay rise, a £1,000 lump sum for lost overtime and more weekend staffing. TNT said its offer was fair, noting that other workers had sought extra staff because of the overtime burden.
