In 1992, the Labour Court recommended a 24-week trial of Arklow Pottery Limited's proposed bonus scheme after a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The trial plan applied for three eight-week cycles: the index achieved plus three points in the first, two in the second and one in the third, after which the actual index would count. The Court said the scheme should be jointly monitored.
