In 1992, the Labour Court recommended that Clare Island Sea Farm concede the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for recognition. The recommendation was signed on 27 November 1992. The union sought recognition to represent workers in discussions about pay and conditions. The company did not attend the Court hearing.
