The Labour Court declined to recommend a payment to workers represented by the Marine Port And General Workers Union after Flogas decided not to replace a sales representative. The recommendation was dated 19 May 1993. The union argued that workers who took on the additional workload and responsibilities should receive a share of the savings. The Court said the union had not established a compelling case, particularly in light of the company’s trading position.
