In 1994, the Labour Court found no grounds for paying Dublin Bus drivers for suspensions between 23 May and 4 June 1993 or for the work stoppage on 26 and 27 September 1993. The recommendation was signed on 7 February 1994. The Court recommended that suspended employees could count the suspension days for the attendance bonus scheme. It found no grounds to retain a right to return to conducting duties where conversion compensation had been paid, while noting the company's alternative-position assurance and the right to revert where compensation had not been paid. The unions were the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and the National Bus and Rail Union.
