The Labour Court recommended that H. C. Cahill Limited pay a worker £500 compensation and provide a suitable reference after finding he was unfairly treated in the way his dismissal was carried out. The recommendation was signed on 2 March 1994. The worker had been dismissed in November 1993 after taking on warehouse and transport manager duties. He said he improved operations, received no explanation for his dismissal and was willing to return as a driver. H. C. Cahill Limited cited performance concerns and an unauthorised £20 voucher. The Court found the manner of dismissal unfair.
