In 1994, the Labour Court recommended talks among Bus Eireann, the National Bus and Rail Union, and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union over a proposed mini-bus feeder service between Youghal and Dungarvan. The recommendation, dated 3 August 1994, said the proposal breached an earlier Labour Court recommendation. The unions objected that the company had introduced the service without their agreement and planned to use a private operator. The company said a mini-bus was the cost-effective option given expected passenger numbers and that one already travelled much of the route empty. The Court recommended that talks consider the company’s costs and the earlier recommendation’s terms.
