The Labour Court recommended that Cablelink Ltd post notices inviting applications for vacancies involving lateral moves. The recommendation was signed on 11 October 1995. The Amalgamated Transport and General Workers Union wanted all vacancies advertised and challenged Mr. Norton’s redeployment. The Court considered the company’s position on redeployment not unreasonable and did not recommend in favour of the union’s claim on that issue.
