In 1995, the Labour Court recommended that Flogas Ireland Limited pay employees in Grades A, B and C at the higher grade’s rate after two continuous weeks covering its full duties. The recommendation was signed on 21 December. The Amalgamated Transport and General Workers Union and Marine Port and General Workers Union sought payment after more than one week of acting-up duties; the company proposed six weeks. The Court recommended the higher rate after two continuous weeks of acting up, on each occasion, while existing arrangements continued for work outside those grades.
