In 1996, the Labour Court found IRC Contracts had acted unreasonably towards a worker and recommended reinstating her to her former position and compensating her for losses. The recommendation was dated 12 March 1996. The worker had been a supervisor and was told she would be demoted to sales co-ordinator, with her hourly rate reduced from £5.00 to £4.15. Her representative, Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, said the company had made the changes without negotiations. IRC Contracts did not attend the hearing.
