Labour Court recommends £400 for Kepak worker unfairly dismissed

By Saoirse Doyle

Labour Court ·

In 1996, the Labour Court found that the manner in which a worker was dismissed by Kepak Limited was unfair and recommended a £400 lump sum in full and final settlement. The Marine Port And General Workers Union referred the dispute. The worker said she faced abuse and harassment from the canteen manageress before her dismissal; the company said she had resigned after a disagreement. The recommendation was signed on 21 March 1996.
