The Labour Court did not recommend that Power Supermarkets Limited raise pay for goods-receiving staff after back-door delivery scanning was reintroduced. The recommendation was signed on 20 December 1996. Mandate argued that the technology added work and responsibility. The company said scanning was covered by a 1987–88 agreement and had reduced paperwork. The Court concluded that the technology fell within that agreement and did not recommend concession of the claim.
