The Labour Court recommended that Showerings Ireland Limited (Chapelizod) pay its offer of £1,500 compensation per employee in a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union over redeployment of three helpers. The recommendation was signed on 3 March 1997. The Court also recommended applying to the workers the same period of backdating for a 3% pay increase as applied to other group members. It said an indoor worker should have six months to take a redundancy option, with the parties to discuss staffing needs and the temporary employee’s future.
