Labour Court ·

The Labour Court recommended that Irish Distillers Limited recognise the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s right to represent its members among staff. The recommendation was dated 8 September 1997. The union sought recognition for 28 clerical and supervisory workers. Irish Distillers Limited said the Irish Distillers Staff Association already had sole negotiating rights for salaried staff under a 1985 agreement. The Court noted that some staff had joined the union and wished it to represent them.
