The Labour Court recommended that a Teagasc claimant accept the outcome of a union ballot on restructuring negotiations. The recommendation was signed on 5 March 1998. The claimant argued that his salary should retain parity with Local Authority Grade 5 pay and sought placement on a higher Grade 3 scale. Teagasc said pay adjustments had been determined through collective agreements and most staff had accepted the restructuring deal in a ballot. The Court found no basis for treating the PCW increases differently.
